Sub-Accounts now standard

GlobalDrive users now always have at least one sub-account per subscription. GlobalDrive does not charge more for the privilege of having sub-accounts, and our standard pricing is based on how much space and how many sub-accounts you wish to have.

Our minimum subscription size is now 1Gb, and comes with one sub-account in addition to the "Primary" (main) account. Sub-accounts are useful even if you don't share your data with others.

Let's say that you frequent an "internet cafe". It would be bad if someone else were to glean your account info (username and password) from that public computer and destroy your data. In this case, you can set your sub-account to a username and password you don't give out to others but with read-only access. Then use that sub-account to access your data from the internet café, and if someone discovers your username and password, they cannot destroy your data.

Or, for example, if you have a co-worker or research assistant helping you on a project, you can assign them read-write access to a subdirectory in your space but not your main account. That way, they can do anything with the quota of space you have allocated to them, and you can copy data from their subdirectory to your (protected) directory, while at the same time limiting their ability to affect your data.

It's a nice feature to have when it's free, and with GlobalDrive, sub-accounts are standard. Just another way we "set ourselves apart from the crowd".

For more information, click here.
