THIS PRIVACY POLICY IS EFFECTIVE AS OF 2006/12/02
The following policy explains how your personal information will be treated when you register for and maintain free-trial and paid Globaldrive accounts. Unless we modify this agreement, there will be no deviations from the terms contained herein by Globaldrive. If we modify this agreement, we will post it to the website with at least 30 days notice and we will note that a new Privacy Policy is coming into effect on the home (index) page.

The "bottom-line" to our privacy policy is this:
WE USE YOUR INFORMATION ONLY TO PROVIDE YOU WITH ACCESS TO GLOBALDRIVE. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF REASONABLE LAW ENFORCEMENT, LEGAL OR JUDICIAL DEMANDS, WE WILL NOT KNOWINGLY DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION OUTSIDE OF GLOBALDRIVE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Period.
We DO NOT sell your information to "third party affiliates", "marketing companies", or any other firm. We treat your privacy in the same manner as which we would like our privacy treated. We don't like spam. We're pretty sure you don't like spam, either. You'll never get spam from Globaldrive, nor will you ever get spam from the release of private information you submit to Globaldrive. We're not interested in making more money by disclosing your information.

1. Why Globaldrive Needs To Collect Information From You
Globaldrive provides customers with online storage space which can be used to store, share, access, backup and protect important files. In order to open an account, we need to know who you are. It's basic business common sense. You will be or are using our servers to store any information that is not illegal (i.e., we do not allow the storage of child pornography or other contraband data). We need to know who is storing stuff on our servers.

2. What Information Globaldrive Collects From You
Globaldrive requires your name, an email address, and credit card information. Your credit card will NOT be charged if you cancel your thirty day free trial before the end of thirty days. If you do not cancel your free trial before the end of thirty days, your credit card will be charged according to our then-current pricing policy. Once you have registered, your customer account is created, and you can take full advantage of Globaldrive's services without interruption.
We occasionally ask registered users to complete surveys that help us improve our site. We will NEVER disclose this information outside of the Company. Period. Information you share in one of our "how are we doing?" (or other) surveys remains within the Company at all times.
Globaldrive customers use our service to store data. Globaldrive will not access any of your stored data except as outlined in the Terms of Service or as may be reasonably required for Law, Legal or Judicial reasons.

3. What cookies are and how they are used
In order to provide a personalized service, Globaldrive uses cookies to store some information about your account. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server that is stored on your computer's hard drive. Globaldrive uses both session ID cookies and persistent cookies (i.e., cookies that exist across sessions). These cookies do not contain any personal information.
There is no viewable, usable or personally-identifiable information stored in the cookies we use. The session cookies exist only as long as the shorter of: (a) the time-out value of the cookie; or (b) when you log out.
If you are accessing Globaldrive from a public, shared or "internet café"-type computer, PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOG OUT.
We use cookies:
- To establish an authenticated session with the service when you login to your Globaldrive account using our web interface. When you use Globaldrive's web interface to access your account, logging in will require that you accept a session ID cookie. When you close your web browser, the session ID cookie will terminate; and
- To remember some of your basic account preferences in orderto deliver a better, more personalized service. A persistent cookie may be setwhen you register, "Sign In," or use the Globaldrive web interface torecord certain application settings and other preferences.
- Globaldrive HAS NO BUSINESS PARTNERS NOR ADVERTISERS THAT WILL STORE A COOKIE ON YOUR COMPUTER. Any cookies stored on your computer are for Globaldrive's use ONLY. Period.

4. How Your IP Address Is Treated
Globaldrive may record your IP address for internal use(fraud prevention, usage monitoring, administration, etc.) IP Addresses are not linked orcross-referenced with any personally identifiable information.
GLOBALDRIVE WILL NOT DISCLOSE YOUR IP ADDRESS EXCEPT FOR REASONABLE LAW, LEGAL OR JUDICIAL REQUESTS.

5. How your information is used
Globaldrive does not provide any of your personal information to third parties except as discussed below or as required by law, legal or judicial reasons.
We do not sell or give access to our customer e-mail list or other customer profile information to ANYONE.
When you access Globaldrive and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with Globaldrive and ONLY with Globaldrive.
We will NEVER share your personal information with any marketing, advertising, list rental, or other business.
Once you are registered, unless you request technical support or agree to participate in a Globaldrive survey, we will NEVER ask you for any personal information.
Period.
If you ever receive an email that says "you must click here to renew your Globaldrive personal information" or any other type of"phishing" activity DO NOT RESPOND TO IT. Instead, if you are concerned about your Globaldrive account(s) then please go directly to our website using either your favorite browser or the Globaldrive Virtual Desktop Drive.
If you contact Globaldrive we will keep a record of that correspondence.
Special Circumstances: Globaldrive may also disclose account information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating Globaldrive's Terms of Service or may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Globaldrive's rights or property, other Globaldrive users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Globaldrive may disclose your data for reasonable Law, Legal or Judicial requests.
When your free trial converts into a paid account, or on the billing date of your paid account, we will encrypt the data and pass relevant information to a Merchant Bank while your credit card is being charged. This is standard online credit card processing activity - we simply want you to know about it. (NB: the same thing happens when you use your credit card in a "brick-and-mortar" store, but the information is probably transmitted across a telephone line.) The Merchant Bank does not retain, share,store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
Globaldrive may, from time to time, e-mail you regarding your account, BUT ONLY REGARDING YOUR ACCOUNT. You'll never get spam announcing a new toaster, for example.
Only Globaldrive or contractors working under confidentiality agreements on behalf of Globaldrive will send you such e-mail.
Globaldrive does not sell or provide access to customer information to ANYONE outside of our employees or contractors working under confidentiality agreements. Period.

6. How you can access, update or delete your information
You can edit your Globaldrive account information at any time by accessing your account using our web interface (your profile information can be modified by accessing the "My Profile" page once you are logged in). If you have forgotten your password, please go here to have it emailed to the email address you have stored in your account.
Your Globaldrive account can be easily cancelled at anytime. Doing so will result in losing access to most functions and services provided by Globaldrive, including your Globaldrive account AND ANY FILES STORED ON GLOBALDRIVE WILL BE DELETED TO A POINT WHERE THEY CANNOT BE "UNDELETED" NOR RESTORED. Please go here for instructions about cancelling your Globaldrive account. Residual account information remains archived within our records, but only residual account information.
GLOBALDRIVE CANNOT CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT WHILE IT IS PAID-IN-FULL - ONLY YOU CAN DO THAT.
Should your account become delinquent, GlobalDrive may cancel your account (for more information, please refer to our "Terms Of Service" page here).

7. The security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of your information
Information collected when you register, whether for a free-trial account or for a paid account, is encrypted and is protected with 128-bit SSL encryption (if your browser has lower than 128-bit SSL encryption, our security certificates will auto-upgrade the connection to 128-bit SSL encryption for the life of your Globaldrive session(s)). You can verify whether or not the session is SSL-encrypted by looking for a "padlock" or "key" on your browser page.
Your Globaldrive account information and Globaldrive customer profile are password-protected so that you, and only you, have access to this personal information. You may edit your Globaldrive account information by logging into our web interface using your Globaldrive username and password.
DO NOT DIVULGE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE. Globaldrive will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or e-mail. Also remember to sign out of your Globaldrive account and close your browser window when you finish your work. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information or files if you share a computer with someone else or are using a shared computer.
Globaldrive has users all over the world. When you give Globaldrive personal information, that information may be sent electronically to, or stored on, servers outside of the country where you originally entered the information, such as the United States or other countries. Whenever Globaldrive obtains, manages, or stores personal information as described above, regardless of where it occurs, Globaldrive makes every effort to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with the terms as stated in both this Privacy Policy and our Terms Of Service.
Unfortunately, no matter how strong the encryption or how private the connection, data sent across the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Thus, despite our best efforts, Globaldrive cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or while using the service, and you do so at your own risk. Globaldrive will make every effort to safeguard your information.

8. What happens when you utilize the Globaldrive "Sharing" feature(s)
When you use Globaldrive to "Share" data, you must enter at least one e-mail address of the recipient(s) of the shared data. E-mail addresses that you enter when using Globaldrive to share information are not stored, sold or otherwise kept beyond the time required to process the shared data request.

9. What else you should know about your online privacy
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, that information can be intercepted and collected by others. One good policy to follow is to never disclose anything online that you would not say in public.
The Globaldrive web site contains links to other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information relevant to the GlobalDrive web site or to the GlobalDrive Virtual Disk Drive.
Please be aware that Globaldrive is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. This Privacy Policy is only applicable to www.globaldrive.com.
You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your account information and passwords regarding Globaldrive. If you believe your password has been compromised, then you are obligated to notify us as soon as possible here.
