The "Space Used / Subscribed" Graphic
This area displays the current status of your subscription to, or evaluation of, GlobalDrive. The horizontal bar is a graphic that illustrates how much of your account size (the width of the bar) is used (in blue). Above the bar, you will see "x of y MBs (z% used)". This means that you are using "x" megabytes, your subscription size is "y" megabytes, and you are currently using "z" percent of your subscribed space.

How to use the "dropdown" menus
The "dropdown" menus are designed to provide all of the functionality of the "My Account" page and GlobalDrive website from one easy-to-use location. On each dropdown menu there is an indicator on the right of it's selection area that is in one of two "states":
(a) if it looks like this: then by left-clicking this menu selection once, you will "expand" (show) all of the choices under this menu selection; or
(b) if it looks like this then by left-clicking this menu selection once, you will "collapse" (hide) all of the choices under this menu selection; or
Only one dropdown menu can be expanded at a time. Expanding a dropdown menu item selection will cause any other dropdown menu selection to collapse.

Left-clicking the "Add subaccounts" dropdown menu selection will cause the window shown below to appear:

"User name": enter the username you wish to assign to the subaccount user here. The subaccount username can be from 4-40 characters, must not contain any embedded blanks, and cannot contain any of the characters between the two "X" in this string:
X @ : / \ < > * ? ! ~ " | ' "X.
"Password": enter the password you wish to assign to the subaccount user here. The password can be from 6-36 characters, must not contain any embedded blanks, and cannot contain any of the characters between the two "X" in this string:
X @ : / \ < > * ? ! ~ " | ' "X.
"Confirm Password": must be identical to "Password", above.
"Email": must be a valid email for the subaccount user, so that if they forget their password, we can email it to them.
"Secret Question": choose a secret question for them so that we can identify them.
"Answer": choose an answer for the secret question selected above so that we can identify them.
"Quota": the size of your account that you wish to allocate to them for their use, in MB. Note: if you allocate all of your account for their use, then you will have no room for files that you do not want them to see.
"Permission": check the box next to each permission that you wish to grant to this subaccount user.
If you give the subaccount user "Administrator" permission, they will be able to add or delete other subaccount users; however, they will not be able to modify the main user's account information.
A note on the "Lock into subdirectory" value: if this box is not checked, they can go "upwards" in your account hierarchy and will be able to view your files. Instead of giving them "upwards" access, we recommend creating a "Virtual Directory" (more on this here).
When you have completed filling out the information for your subaccount user, left-click the "Add Sub Account" button. If you would like to return without adding the subaccount, left-click the "My Account" link at the top of the page.
Note: After you click on the "Add Sub Account" button, you remain on this page. This feature is by design. We maintain position on the page to avoid excessive back-and-forth between the "My Account" page and this page for new users that would like to add several subaccounts "all at once". When you have finished adding your subaccount(s), left-click "My Account" to return.

Your account is not cancelled until you left-click the link in the confirmation email.
WHEN YOU CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT YOUR DATA IS DELETED TO A POINT FROM WHICH IT CANNOT BE RECOVERED. Please download and backup any GlobalDrive-stored data before cancelling your account.
If you decide to not cancel your account, left-click the "My Account" link at the top of the page. You will be returned to your "My Account" page, and your account will not be cancelled. If you have already left-clicked "Cancel My Account" and change your mind, simply ignore the confirmation email.

The "Add a virtual directory" dropdown menu selection

To create a Virtual Directory, left-click the "Add a virtual directory" dropdown menu selection and then you will be presented with this page:

Each existing Virtual Directory will appear on this page as one row. If you want to remove the Virtual Directory, left-click the "delete" link next to the Virtual Directory you want to delete.
Note that if you delete a Virtual Directory, that does not free up any space in your account. To free up the space occupied by files and/or folders that were contained in the Virtual Directory, you must manually delete them. This is a safeguard against data loss, and is by design.
When you have finished viewing the Virtual Directories, left-click the "My Account" link at the top of the page.

The "My default account settings" dropdown menu selection
The "My default account settings" dropdown menu selection is used to set the defaults that will be given to subaccount users when someone with administer privileges adds the subaccounts. They can be overriden when the subaccount is added.
When you left-click the "My account default settings" dropdown menu selection you will see one of the following two page formats, depending upon whether: (a) you are the main user (first format); or (b) you are a subaccount user (second format).
Main user view.
Note that in the image above, all of the "Permissions" settings are not selectable. This is by design. This prevents the main user from removing any of their permissions (the main user has all permissions enabled by default).
Subaccount user view.
The image above is what a subaccount user will see. They can change their password, their email, their "secret question" (and response), but they cannot change their permissions nor can they change their quota.
Note: when setting up permissions for subaccount users, note the checkbox titled, "Lock into subdirectory". If that box is not checked, the subaccount user can view any files in the account; if that box is checked, the subaccount user can only view files in their directory, in directories "below" their directory, and in Virtual Directories.

The "My folders" display area
There is at least one line in this area - the top line - which represents the "root" level of your account or subaccount. For each folder or sub-folder in your account, you will see another line in this display area. The folder names are displayed in standard Windows "tree" structure, in a manner almost identical to that of Windows Explorer.
To the left of each line in the "My Folders" area is a little square that has either a plus ("+") sign or a minus ("-") sign in it. If you would like to see what folders are contained within a given folder, left-click the "+" sign to expand the listing of folders; or, conversely, left-click the "-" sign to collapse the display so that the folders are no longer visible.
If you would like to do something (rename, download, delete, etc.) to a file, left-click the folder that contains the file (or, for Upload, the folder that you want to contain the uploaded file) in the "My Folders" area. If you would like to do something (rename, download, delete, etc.) to a folder, left-click the folder in the "My Folders" area that contains the folder you want to manipulate. Icon functions, dropdown menu selections, and right-click "context" menu functions can only be performed on files and folders in the "Files in current folders" area (more info about the "Files in current folders" area can be found here).
The folder on which you are "positioned" within your account is shown by the grey highlight surrounding the folder name.

The "Files in current folder" display area
The "Files in current folder" display area was designed to function in a manner very similar to Windows Explorer. To that end:
- The columns are arranged in Icon - Name - Size - Date Modified order (some columns may not be visible; if not, click here for more info on how to make them visible).
- The columns can be sorted ascending or descending by left-clicking on the bar at the top of the column. If you want to reverse the sort order, left-click it again.
- Right-click ("Context") menus are available by positioning the mouse over the desired file or folder and single right-clicking. If you want to make the context menu disappear, press Esc.
Single left-click any file or folder displayed in the "Files in current folder" display area before selecting a function, and then: (a) left-click the function Icon; or (b) left-click the function in the dropdown menu; or (c) right-click to pop-up the Context menu, then left-click the function in the Context menu. Ex.: to delete a file, left-click the file that you want to delete, then either left-click the Delete icon, the "Delete selected file" dropdown menu selection, or right-click to pop-up the Context menu, then left-click Delete in the Context menu.
When uploading, the file(s) being uploaded will be placed in the folder highlighted in the "My Folders" area, regardless of what is highlighted in the "Files in current folder" display area.
